i'm not dead, just waiting for fitzmas

Hello there. Apologies for all the recent blog neglect - I've been downright awful over the last few months. This coming weekend will be jam-packed, but hopefully I'll get back to finally wrapping up all my backlogged posts.

Until then, here's a little something to tide you over through the holidays...

MP3 Starlight Mints - "Valerie Flames"
From indie pop-rockers the Starlight Mints' (who are apparently working on a new album at last) 2000 The Dream That Stuff Was Made Of LP, this one goes out to Judy Judy Judy (and her conveniently "found" notes). Today may be Fitzmas Eve, the nite before the reality-based community finally gets to open its long-overdue presents. 'Tis the season for accountibility!

MP3 Broken Social Scene - "Major Label Debut (fast)"
I'll be spending my Saturday nite with a bunch of feisty Canadians, whose recently released selft-titled album may not be perfect, but is definitely growing on me. Of course, there's no denying their live acumen, so I'm pumped. This fun, sped-up "Major Label Debut" (rather than the moody & dreary LP version) is off the limited edition bonus EP To Be You & Me.

king of france + durant + mpls = :)

MP3 The King of France - "Mexico"
I'm short on time today (what's new?), but I wanted to quickly mention that I should be making a rare appearance at the f**king Quest tonite, catching Robbers on High Street & the NYC-based King of France in the Ascot Room ($10, doors @ 6:30pm). Matt "Durant" Trowbridge from RANA is now playing keys with King of France, who I saw open for the Jersey rawkers at their New Years '03-'04 event at CBGB's. It promises to be a good show, dispite the venue. Y'all Mpls folk should come on out tonite. "Mexico" is the first track off King of France's recently released self-titled LP.

go crazy? don't mind if i do!

Apologies for the recent silence. The cable is out at the homestead.

I hope to be back online sometime this weekend. Fingers crossed.

No TV & no internets make mr gilbert something something...
