why would a banana grab another banana?

Approximately 750K-1 million people will be descending on Washington D.C. today for the March For Women's Lives, which I've heard about over & over & over while tuning into Air America during the last month. Being a fancy-pants-liberal-elitist & all, I wish I could actually be in the nation's capital to show my support - but there's no way I'm missing tonite's Strokes show. For all that do make it out to the march (or are sponsoring someone's journey out there), I give you huge mad props. Well done, ladies & gents!

Tonite may be one of last chances (or possibly THE last chance) for you to catch what may be the funniest show on TV, Arrested Development. Fox may or may not bring the show back for a second season, and tonite is being touted as the 1st season "finale" - which is untrue. The recent Bush "press conference" bumped an episode of 24 to last sunday, which bumped AD out of its normal time slot. So tonite's show is the 2nd to last episode of the season, with the real finale airing June 6, outside of May sweeps for reasons beyond understanding.

I watched last nights episode to increase viewership if only by one household. The dialogue between Tobias, George-Michael and Gob about being manly was pure brilliance. When do they release if they're keeping the show or not?

i have no idea, but i think it should be soon enough (some renewals have already been announced). over the weekend, i heard someone on air america radio claim that the show had been picked up, but i have found no confirmation of that - so i'm still under the assumption that the decision is up in the air. hopefully Fox will do the honorable thing & still air the real AD season finale in June.

also, anybody notice all the former Mr. Show actors in last nite's episode? not to mention the Kids in the Hall's Kevin McDonald. AD even gets the best guest stars...

arrested development is one of the smartest comedy shows on tv... thus, it will be cancelled.
why? because us 'mericans are dumb!
damn it. what a disappointment right?

sad, but often true. however, Fox has shown AD a surprising amount of support, and the vocal outpouring from critics etc about saving this show blows away past similar efforts like Undeclared, Keen Eddie, Andy Richter, Wonderfalls, and others. i actually optimistic, but I still won't be surprised if AD doesn't get picked up.

why did they put it against the sopranos? it's so hard to choose for me, but ultimately the sopranos always win. i guess it would be a different story if i had a dvr or something...they need to put it on monday night, when nothing is on.

Worst timeslot ever.

At that same timeslot, i'm either watching Law & Order CI or HBO (also taping one or the other), and a lot of people are over at ABC watching Alias. Plus, AD is on during the back half of the hour, at which point those of us watching hour-long shows aren't likely to change the channel. Fox was trying to piggy-back it w/the fading Malcolm in the Middle (another "dysfunctional" family), but that was a lousy strategy IMO.

If Fox were smart, they would change AD's night (monday is a good suggestion) and rerun the hell out of it over the summer. Friends was a moderate success during its 1st season, but after tons of summer reruns it gained momentum & was huge in year two. It could possibly work for AD.

Thank god for Bitorrent, as I've managed to download every episode of AD this season while watching/taping whatever else was on. Of course, if I were actually in a Nielson house, I would have only tuned into AD.

BTW: Has anybody ever met someone that lived in a Nielson household? Who exactly are these "ratings" based on anyway??
